About

The Professional:

Julia Grace, originally from the mountains of northeast Pennsylvania, has been interested in creative expressions since childhood. As an only child she spent a great deal of time by herself, being immersed in nature, and believes this played a major role in developing her creativity. Julia Grace has pursued her interest in art formally in several ways, including attending and graduating from the Hallmark Institute of Photography and taking numerous fine art classes through West Chester University and Main Line School Night. Julia Grace also has an enduring passion for creative writing. She strives to create vivid imagery and develop engaging characters. She loves writing poetry, fantasy, and children’s stories and is currently over 30,000 words into her first novel.

Along with her love of art and writing, Julia Grace has a life long adoration for animals and regularly includes them in her pieces.  Julia has done considerable work with animals; including rehabilitating, relocating, or re-homing injured or unwanted animals; working in a pet store; and volunteering at a local veterinarian’s practice, the Great Valley Nature Center, and the Academy of Natural Sciences.

The Personal:

I am your average twenty-something trying to find my niche in life. I am bare-branched,waiting to bloom; trying to find myself and break the bonds of what’s expected of me by others and myself, of what I think is “acceptable” instead of what I want to be, of confusion and fear, and all the other things holding me back while trying to keep my head above the quicksand of all things that stamp out individualism and creativity.

 Fun Q&A:

•What pets do you have?
I am currently owned by 1 dog, 2+1 cats (+1 is a barn cat who adopted me), 2 leopard geckos, a red-footed tortoise, a baby turtle, and 7 snakes. I also often have toads, frogs, and insects to visit and model for me during the spring and summer.

•What do you collect?
Probably more than I should! I love hats and ties and don’t wear either often enough. I also have a large button collection (the pin on kind, with snarky phrases or cute pictures) and I have quite a few dragons hanging around. I would love to collect typewriters and old cameras, but I currently don’t have anywhere to put them.
