… come again another day. All the world is waiting on the sun.
It’s been raining, drizzling, and pouring here for the past few days, so in hopes for sunny days to come I’m posting some pictures from my walk through the Jenkins Arboretum. It was a great walk. I saw the last of spring’s pretty flowers, some lazy turtles, and some protective red winged blackbirds. The Arboretum was also having a celebratory event so I got to see some tiny creatures displayed in ice cube trays (unfrozen of course!) in the children’s area. Enjoy!

This female red winged blackbird was following me around screeching at me. She must have had some babies near by.

This was the mate of the female who was chasing me around. He squawked at me too, but was harder to photograph since he stayed higher up in the trees.

Here’s the male flying right over my head bringing a juicy insect home for the babies

Here is another female that was in the process of building or lining her nest among the reeds. She made some pretty funny faces at me.
